Founded by Mr. Thomas Widdershoven and Ms. Nikki Gonnissen, the former International President at Alliance Graphique Internationale. Among the graphic designs Thonik is known for are Queen Beatrix’s silver jubilee posters, visual identity design for VPRO (television station), Amsterdam government, socialist party, as well as Shanghai Power Station of Art.
Yunjin brocade is known as worthy as gold, for every centimeter takes one hour to weave.

Being invited by “XIHAN Action”, and from a humanistic view, Studio Thonik designed the wedding dress for the daughter of one Nanjing Yunjing weaver. The abstract pattern of sandglass presented in rich colors symbolizes the passing hours.

And interwoven into the warp and weft threads is the love that enables the traditional handicraft to be complemented with innovative design.
